Our Team

Our dedicated team of nursery practitioners are all well-qualified, trained and DBS checked. They have had many years of experience in nurturing young minds and delivering creative and stimulating learning experiences.

Gemma Brown

Gemma has lead the Abingdon Team for 5 years, with nearly 20 years’ experience in Early Years, she is Level 3 qualified and is dedicated to moving the nursery and the staff forwards with ideas and events. She has a young daughter who also joins her at the nursery.

Gemma says:

“I am a passionate, organised and hands on leader who focusses on play based and discovery learning environments. I believe in fostering strong relationships with my families and having dynamic happy staff who work together as a team to provide a high standard of provision. I am excited to become part of the Duchess Nursery and wider Chatsworth Schools' family.”

Abby Cox

Deputy Manager

Abby says:
"I am a fun and enthusiastic nursery practitioner with a passion for helping children develop and grow. I am the nursery Send Co Lead and have a growing experience with working with outside professionals. I love creating activities that follow the children's interests. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my nephew and niece, baking and spending time with my pug Poppie!

Ellie Bradshaw

Early Years Nursery Assistant

Ellie says:
"I love supporting the children with next steps to enable them to grow and develop in new skills, this also helps to create a lovely bond with the children. For me, it's important that every child feels happy and welcomed when in the nursery. Outside of work, I love spending time with friends and family and also exploring different parts of the world!"

“I enjoy getting to know each and every child, exploring their interests with them, especially through messy activities. It is important to me that each child feels happy and confident at nursery. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with family and friends and love travelling to explore new places!

"I have worked in Children's education for many years and have worked in a variety of environments. I enjoy sharing my personal learning with the new team members. Outside of work I have my own family who I very much enjoy spending days out with, I am a keen baker and love finding new and exciting activities to do with the babies."

Phoebe says:
"I have enjoyed joining the team and learning about the development of the child, especially the children under 2 years old. I am looking forward to beginning my qualification in Early Years. Outside of work, I like to find new and exciting places to visit and have time with friends and family."

Beverley Popple

Beverley says:
"I have recently joined the team after deciding to change my career, I am looking forward to gaining a qualification within Early years to enable me to support the children further in their development. Outside of work, I love spending my time with my family on days out and holidays. I also like time spent with my French Bulldog Poppy."

"I recently joined the nursery, and I am enjoying my time getting to know my key children and families. Outside of work, I have my own family and we enjoy cooking and taking our children on day trips."

Annette says:
"I have been a chef cooking meals for children for many years. I really enjoy talking with the children finding out their favorite foods and helping to support the older children at meal times. I spent time living out of England and enjoyed learning about new recipes I could try at home. My children are now grown up but we still love to have time as a family together."

Izzie says:
Izzie is currently on maternity leave
