What our parents say
“The staff are supportive, very friendly and caring staff and want the best for each child. The small nature and low numbers at Abingdon are very important to us. Our son knows all the staff and rooms and so the transition between each room and key workers has always been smooth. We love the fact that all the staff know our son’s name and recognise us at pick up or drop off. Our son is happy to talk to any adult in the building and that can only be achieved in this small intimate environment. Food being provided is excellent and a very important factor when we chose this nursery. He enjoys the food and making balancing work/parent life so much easier."

The Griffins have been busy making some sensory bottles all about the butterfly life cycle! 🦋
This is to extend on the caterpillars we currently have growing in the room. We’ve been learning all about the different stages of them growing, and these bottles will help us to vision it clearer.

Today, the Dragons have celebrated and explored Earth Day! This is a day learning about the planet we live on and how we can look after it. This years theme is planet vs plastics, where we have learned all about how important it is to recycle plastic but also not to use too much of it! To support our learning, we’ve had a tuff tray with sea animals who were trapped in plastic as well as earth themed playdough. We also played a fun recycling game where the children had to guess which bin each piece of rubbish went into, which the Griffins also joined in with! ♻️ 🌎

This morning the Dragons had so much fun going for a little hunt for frogs and tadpoles! They took a walk to the local park and discovered a stream, they carefully entered with their buckets and nets to see what they could find! They all really enjoying walking back and forth to the banks splashing in the water💦

The Griffins have really loved exploring planting over the last couple of weeks. We’ve started to grow our own grass and we’ve planted some cress and broad beans. We can’t wait to watch them grow!🍀
